JSW Steel USA Ohio plant, also known as Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel (predecessor), is a steel plant in Mingo Junction, Ohio, United States that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the plant in Mingo Junction, Ohio, United States:
- Location: 1500 Commercial Avenue, Mingo Junction, Ohio 43938, United States

Background
The JSW Steel USA Ohio plant was originally built in 1872 (then known as Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel). In 2018, JSW Steel bought the plant, which had been sitting idle for more than 10 years, for nearly $81 million, modernizing the facility with an EAF, slab caster and 80” hot rolling mill.[1][2]
In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic caused the plant to suspend production in July 2020, a period of stasis which was used to upgrade equipment.[3] The plant's EAF was restarted in March 2021.[4]
