• is a member of the 'advisory board' of Hong Kong-listed North Asia Resources, a iron ore and copper exploration company with interests in Mongolia.
• in March 2012 Maitland's company, Jonca Investments bought a 5.15% shareholding in Stratum Metals for $125,150. Stratum Metals is predominantly an exploration company with interests in gold and copper-gold projects. However, it also has an interest in the Canning Basin Coal Project in the Kimberley region in Western Australia.
