Lyman Deng is Executive Director of Newtech Energy, a small company proposing to construct a proposed brown coal briquetting plant in the Latrobe Valley in Victoria.[1]

A biographical note states that[2]:
- "Lyman Deng obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree and worked as an engineer in China for five years. In the late 1980s, Lyman relocated to Australia to study and worked in the manufacturing sector. This experience in China and Australia equipped Lyman with strong working knowledge of the manufacturing and industrial processes. More recently, Lyman has established business in international trade and has built extensive international networks. Since joining Newtech, he has played a significant role in the business development and marketing areas of the project. Lyman is one of the corporate directors, with particular responsibilities for finance and product marketing."
