METG Pipeline is a gas pipeline in Germany.[1]
Location
METG runs from Paffrath (a district of Bergisch Gladbach), in Nordrhein-Westfalen, to Gernsheim, Hessen, Germany.[1] It connects with the NETG Pipeline at Paffrath, and with the MEGAL Gas Pipeline at Gernsheim; for the entirety of its length it runs alongside the Werne-Gernsheim Gas Pipeline, also owned by Open Grid Europe.

Background
METG is an abbreviation for Mittelrheinische Erdgastransportleitungsgesellschaft, or "Middle Rhine Gas Transport Pipeline Company." The METG pipeline system was commissioned in 1968. It is connected to the NETG Pipeline system at Paffrath, and to the MEGAL Gas Pipeline at Gernsheim. It is used to transport Dutch natural gas to western and south-western Germany. METG is now owned solely by Open Grid Europe.[1]
