Background

Ma'anshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. is publicly-listed with A-shares on the Shanghai stock exchange and H-shares on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Its largest shareholder at 45.54% is Masteel (Group) Holdings, Limited. China Baowu Steel Group bought a 51% controlling stake in Masteel Group (also known as Magang) in 2019.[1] [2]

The company's capacity replacement project plans to build two BOF(150-ton), which will be constructed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2023, and the second phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2024.[3]The first phase has started in November 2021[4] and was completed and put into operation on in Jun. 2023. Phase One of the project was completed and put into operation in just 18 months from the start, once again refreshing the "Baoye Speed."[5]

The Manufacturing Department, Energy and Environment Department, and other relevant units of the company achieved stable ultra-low emissions for 30 consecutive days through measures such as optimizing operations and gas balance. This achievement was recognized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). On April 25, 2023, Ma Steel successfully completed the assessment of ultra-low emissions progress and made it public on the CISA website.[6]
