Mike Smith is Resource & Commercial Manager of Exergen, a Melbourne-based company seeking an allocation of brown coal resource from the Victorian government to enable it to develop a brown coal based export project.[1]
Background
A biographical note states that Smith:[1]
- "Mike came to Australia in 1998 following a successful career in the UK and India which included senior management roles in industries as diverse as power generation, heavy engineering, road building and quarrying, brewing equipment and furniture manufacturing. Mike became CEO of Yallourn Energy (now TruEnergy), the privatised Victorian power generator, miner and energy marketing business in 2000, a role in which he delivered many beneficial business changes and major improvement projects. In 2005, Mike joined Thiess John Holland where he established and headed their Latrobe Valley based Precast Concrete Manufacturing Facility. This facility manufactured and transported many thousands of precast concrete bridge beams and other components for the highly successful Eastlink Project in Melbourne. Mike joined Exergen as Executive Manager for Victoria in July 2008."
