Expansion Project Details
- Operator: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited[1]
- Proposed capacity: 500,000 barrels per day
- Length: 235 km / 146 miles
- Status: Proposed
- Start Year:
Expansion Background
There's a planned expansion that will increase capacity to 600,000 barrels per day in total.[1] The Capacity Expansion Project entails increasing the existing Mundra Delhi Pipeline capacity from 5 to 8 MMTPA by constructing additional booster pump stations at Bhachau, Palanpur in Gujarat and at Pindwara in Rajasthan.[3] The pipeline would also be extended from Palanpur to Vadodara. The extension pipeline would be 18-inch-diameter pipeline 235 km in length, passing through 8 districts in the state of Gujarat.[3] In October 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the Mundra-Delhi pipeline Capacity Expansion Project.[3]
