Natsteel Singapore plant, also known as NSL, Tata Steel Singapore, is a steel plant in Jurong Industrial Estate, Jurong, Singapore that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

NatSteel was incorporated as National Iron and Steel Mills on 12 August, 1961. The plant began commercial operation on 31 January, 1964. Its name was changed to NatSteel in 1990. The 80 tonne electric arc furnace was commissioned in 1997. It is the only local steel mill with an integrated upstream and downstream operation. Tata steel acquired NatSteel in 2005.[1] NatSteel was renamed as NSL in 2008.[2]
