Background

The Pereyaslovskiy coal mine (разрез Переясловский) is a surface mine in Krasnoyarsk Oblast, Russia. The Pereyaslovskiy coal mine is owned and operated by Krasnoyarskkrayugol OJSC, a subsidiary of Russian Coal.

Produced lignite coal is supplied to Russian power plants (including to Khabarovsk-1 power station), large municipal companies and smaller boiler plants.

The mine's stated capacity is 6 million tonnes per annum. But actual production is lower. 9m 2021 production was 2.43 million tonnes. In 1H 2022 the mine produced 1.5 million tonnes, which was 15% higher than in the same period in 2021. In 1H 2023 the mine produced 1.6 million tonnes, which was 7% higher than in the same period in 2022. In November 2022 the mine's cumulative production reached 100 million tonnes.

The other mine operated by Krasnoyarskkrayguol is the Abansky coal mine, but it only contributes 2% to the production of Krasnoyarskkrayugol, according to the company's website.
