Background

The Pereyaslovskiy coal mine (разрез Переясловский) is a surface mine in Krasnoyarsk Oblast, Russia.[11] The Pereyaslovskiy coal mine is owned and operated by Krasnoyarskkrayugol OJSC, a subsidiary of Russian Coal.[11]

Produced lignite coal is supplied to Russian power plants (including to Khabarovsk-1 power station), large municipal companies and smaller boiler plants.[12]

The mine's stated capacity is 6 million tonnes per annum.[11] But actual production is lower. 9m 2021 production was 2.43 million tonnes.[13] In 1H 2022 the mine produced 1.5 million tonnes, which was 15% higher than in the same period in 2021.[14] In 1H 2023 the mine produced 1.6 million tonnes, which was 7% higher than in the same period in 2022.[12] In November 2022 the mine's cumulative production reached 100 million tonnes.[15]

The other mine operated by Krasnoyarskkrayguol is the Abansky coal mine, but it only contributes 2% to the production of Krasnoyarskkrayugol, according to the company's website.[16]
