- Following the July 2012 decision of the federal government to cancel $100 million for HRL's brown coal and gas fuelled Dual Gas power station in Victoria's Latrobe Valley, the principal consultant of the consultancy company Marsden Jacob, Jeff Washusen, stated that "The theoretical advantage of the dual gas project is that brown coal is dirt cheap ... But the cost of converting it into usable gas is just horrendously high."[1]
