Rashmi Metaliks Kharagpur Steel plant, also known as RML Kharagpur, is a 500 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) blast furnace (BF), direct reduced iron (DRI) and induction furnace (IF) steel plant operating in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India.

Background
The Rashmi Metaliks Kharagpur steel plant began operating in 2004.[2] In 2013, an accident at the plant with machinery resulted in fatal injuries for two employees.[3]
In 2013, the Rashmi Group announced its intention to expand its capacity, totaling an investment worth Rs 1,000 crore in the next few years.[4] A pre-feasibility report was submitted in 2016.[5]
