Background

The Riva Iton Seine Bonnieres Sur Seine steel plant began operating in 1916 under the name of Usines Métallurgiques de Saint-Eloi (Steel Factory of Saint Eloi); in 1973, the company was renamed to Iton Seine, when the first EAF unit was added to the plant. In 1976, the RIVA Group bought the plant.[1]

Little other public information about the plant is available; no environmental or safety incidents are publicly known.
