Rungta Mines Karakhendra Steel Plant, also known as Karakhendra Steel Plant, is a blast furnace (BF), direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant under construction in Karakhendra, Odisha, India.

Background
Rungta Mines Limited is setting up a steel plant at Karakhendra village. The proposal received environment clearance in August 2019. The company also announced to further expanding the capacity from 126 ttpa to 681 ttpa.[1] The project is estimated to be completed in 45 months.[2] The plant is expected to be built on a combination of forest and non-forest land.[3]
