Shandong Taishan Steel Group Co Ltd (山东泰山钢铁集团有限公司, 山东泰山钢铁总公司, 山东泰山钢铁有限公司), also known as Shandong Taishan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Shandong Taishan Iron and Steel Corporation, is a steel plant in Jinan, Shandong, China that operates blast furnace (BF), basic oxygen furnace (BOF), and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

In 2019, Shandong Taishan Steel Group Co., Ltd. announced the capacity replacement plan, which involved decommissioning two 60-ton converters and one 70-ton converter, and constructing two 117-ton converters, along with the implementation of an upgraded steelmaking system. A new converter steelmaking and continuous casting workshop will be established, with the main production focus on continuous casting slab, utilizing the existing hot rolling line for hot rolled products.[1]The Environmental Impact Assessment Report and Environmental Impact Assessment Report of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report were publicly disclosed for the second time in October 2022.[2] In October 2023, the capacity swap plan is likely to be canceled, and the company is going to be relocated.[3]
