Shyam Steel Mejia Steel Plant, also known as Sova Ispat Ltd (formerly), is a steel plant in Meija, Bankura, West Bengal, India that operates direct reduced iron (DRI), steelmaking, and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

The Meija plant received environmental clearance in August 2008. The plant is undergoing expansion from 396 ttpa to 894 ttpa at an investment of around INR 1,410 crore.[1]
