Soma Port is in Shinchi town, Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Imports include coal.
Location
The map below shows the location of the coal-loading facilities at Soma Port. The coal storage yard is connected via conveyor belts and can be seen approximately 1.5 km to the southwest. The port is also connected via conveyors to the Shinchi power station, which is just across the Jizo River from the coal storage yard.
Coal
The port includes a terminal that imports coal from Abbot Point Coal Terminal and the port of Newcastle in Australia.[1][2]
