Background
The Steel Dynamics Roanoke steel plant began operating in 1955 by Roanoke Electric; the plant was purchased from Roanoke Electric in 2006 by Steel Dynamics.[1]
In 2018, Steel Dynamics invested $28 million into upgrade the Roanoke plant and expanding its capacity.[2]
