Suez Steel Solb Misr Attaka plant (SSC, شركة السويس للصلب), also known as Suez Steel Company, Solb Misr, is a steel plant in Attaka, Suez, Egypt that operates direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

Suez Steel Solb Misr plant has been operating since 2000. In 2006, it was acquired in 2006 by LITAT group, a Lebanese group mainly engaged in steel production in the MENA region. [1] In 2013, plant workers went on a month long strike to demand a share of the company's profit, higher salaries, and better benefits.[2]
