Background
In the summer of 2001, Transneft PJSC completed construction of the oil pipeline from Sukhodolnaya to Rodionovskaya, which connected the Lysychansk-Tikhoretsk Oil Pipeline with the Kuibyshev-Lysychansk Oil Pipeline. This route played a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of oil to the port of Novorossiysk without transiting through Ukrainian. The pipeline connects to the the Kuibyshve-Lysychansk Oil Pipeline at the Sukhodolnaya oil pumping station and to the Lysychansk-Tikhoretsk 1 and 2 Oil Pipelines at the Rodionovskaya oil pumping station.[1][4][5]
The capacity expansion project was included into the Territorial Planning Scheme of the Russian Federation in the Field of Federal Transport (Pipeline Transport Section) released by the Government of Russia in May 2015 and revised in August 2024.[3]
