Background

The Seversky Pipe Plant was founded in 1739 and was then called the Seversky Ironworks. Previously, the plant operated blast-furnace and open-hearth production, as well as a rolling mill.[1] The plant was renamed to Seversky Pipe Plant in 1965, due to its specialization in supplying pipes to the oil and gas projects in Siberia and Tyumen. Since 2001, STZ has been part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya PAO). In 2008, electric steelmaking was launched at the enterprise.[2] Blast-furnace and open-hearth furnace shops are no longer operating at the plant.[1]
