Background
The Ulé-Amuay gas pipeline system's main focus is to meet the requirements of the Petroleum Refinery Complex of Paraguaná.[2] Upgrades were made to the pipeline in 1992.[2]
In September 2020, pipeline owner PDVSA confirmed that gas from the pipeline had leaked into the Golfete de Coro.[3] An explosion in the same area was reported by local fishermen.[4]
