Vallourec Jeceaba steel plant (Usina siderúrgica de Jeceaba), also known as VSB (Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil), is a steel plant in Jeceaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil that operates blast furnace (BF) and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the plant in Jeceaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil:

Background
Vallourec Jeceaba steel plant, also commonly known as Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil (VSB), is a Brazilian steel company belonging to the joint venture formed by the French group Vallourec and the Japanese Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC).[1] The plant specializes in producing seamless steel pipes for the oil and gas industry.[2]
Located in the municipality of Jeceaba, 100 km from Belo Horizonte in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, the R$3.2 billion, 2.5 million m² steel complex was announced in 2007 and inaugurated on September 1, 2011 by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.[3][4]
The Jeceaba plant is equipped with a Tenova electric arc furnace[5] and has the capacity to produce 1 million tons of crude steel annually.[3] The plant's seamless pipe production capacity is listed at 600,000 tpa.[6]
In 2018, plant owner Vallourec moved its blast furnace operations from Belo Horizonte to Jeceaba, giving the Jeceaba plant the additional capacity to produce up to 300,000 tpa of pig iron.[7] Other facilities at the plant include a continuous caster, ladle furnace and seamless tube mill supplied by Germany's SMS Group GmbH.[8]
