Background
The Van Steel plant in Kurdistan started its operation in 2022. The plant is equipped with an EAF-based with 750,000 tpy nominal production capacity. The total investment in the Van Steel facility is evaluated at $340 million. The company plants sell its products to domestic customers to support the Iraqi construction sector. [1]
