Volzhsky Pipe Plant (Волжский трубный завод (Russian)), also known as VTZ, is an electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Volzhskiy, Volgograd, Russia.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the plant in Volzhskiy, Volgograd, Russia:
- Location: Avtodoroga №7, 6, Volzhskiy, Volgograd Oblast, Russia, 404119
- Coordinates (WGS 84): 48.804332, 44.794080 (exact)
Background
Construction of Volzhsky Pipe Plant began in 1966. The launch of the electric pipe welding shop took place in 1970, which is considered to be the year when the plant was founded. In subsequent years, VTZ launched electric steelmaking and rolling production, which were supposed to replace the imported sheet with a semi-finished product of its own production. The electric arc furnace shop was launched in 1990 using the equipment of the Italian company Italimpianti. In 1993, the plant was privatized, and since 2002 it has been one of the main assets of the TMK group (Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya PAO).[1]
