Wesfarmers Ltd is a diversified company with interests in rural services, liquefied natural gas distribution, hardware and building products, the coal mining company Premier Coal, insurance and, in November 2007, acquired the national retail chain operated by Coles Myer.[1]
They are a business member of the Australian Industry Greenhouse Network.
Coal interests
Wesfarmers, through its subsidiary Wesfarmers Resources, operates the Curragh mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin and a 40 per cent interest in the Bengalla mine in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales.[2] For further details on the company's coal intertests see Wesfarmers Resources).
