Background
Yangzhou Hengrun Marine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. is a large-scale private iron and steel enterprise integrating sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking, steel rolling, power generation and logistics. It has two 220㎡ sintering machines, two 1080m³ blast furnaces, one 1260m³ blast furnace, two 120-ton converters, one 2.8m medium plate production line, one 1250mm hot-rolled coil production line, one 65mw gas generator set, and 18mw waste heat One generator set, two 600-meter freight wharves. The annual output is 3.5 million tons of iron, 3.3 million tons of steel billets, 1 million tons of medium plates, and 2 million tons of hot-rolled coils.[1] Beginning in September 2022, the company began to plan for expansion projects, among which the total investment of the cold-rolled high-strength plate project was 5.5 billion yuan.[2]
From October 1 to 3, 2022, the company's total air pollutant emissions increased by an average of 11.7% per day.[3]
