Background
In 2022, the company received an administrative penalty for commencing production without the acceptance of the supporting environmental protection facilities for its production expansion project.[1]
On April 16, 2024, at around 11:50 a.m., a worker from China First Metallurgical Group fell while preparing to dismantle a dust removal pipeline at Zhuhai Yueyufeng Steel's No. 4 blast furnace. The worker was fatally injured and pronounced dead after emergency treatment.[2]
