Background
According to the production capacity replacement plan in January 2022, the company plans to build a 110-ton electric furnace (with a production capacity of 825,000 tons) to replace the current 110-ton electric furnace (with a production capacity of 1.1 million tons), which is expected to be put into operation in 2023.[1]
The project commenced on February 1, 2023.[2]
As of November 5, 2024, the progress of the steelmaking project includes 95% completion of civil works and 96% completion of steel structures. The rolling project has also achieved 95% completion of civil works and 96% completion of steel structures. The power project has reached 95% completion of civil works. The slope project has achieved 100% completion of the southern slope. The project is expected to be ready for trial production in early 2025.[3]
