Evonith Value Steel Wardha Steel Plant, also known as Uttam Value Steels Limited (UVSL), is a steel plant in Wardha, Maharashtra, India that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

Evonith Steel is the evolution of the steelmaking facilities located at the Wardha Steel Complex, in Maharashtra, India. The facilities at Wardha Steel Complex include Evonith Metallics Limited (“EML”), formerly known as Uttam Galva Metallics Limited (“UGML”) and Evonith Value Steel Limited (“EVSL”) formerly known as Uttam Value Steels Limited (“UVSL”).[1] Nithia Capital acquired UGML and UVSL in 2020.[2]

The plant was developed as Gupta Tubes and Pipes Private Limited in 1970, whose name was changed to Lloyds Steel Industries Limited in 1986.[3] The plant was acquired by the erstwhile group known as Uttam Group in 2012, changing the plant's name to Uttam Value Steels Ltd.[4][5][6] This was followed by uts acquisition by Nithia Capital in 2020 and accompanied name change to Evonith Value Steels.
