2021 Henan Gas Pipeline Network

Henan gas pipeline network consists of proposed, in-construction, and operating pipelines in Henan Province. The gas sources are from Central Asia countries through West-East Gas Pipelines, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia gas field through Yu-ji Pipeline Network, Shanxi Coalbed methane fields and Zhongyuan oil field.[1]

By the end of 2019, Henan Province had 52 gas pipelines with a total length of 5,600 kilometers, including 1320 kilometers of national pipeline segments and 3280 kilometers of provincial pipelines.[2]

Pipelines belonging to the national network that passes through Henan include West-East Gas Pipeline 1&2, Yu-ji Pipeline Network, and Zhoukou-Wuhan Connecting Pipeline. The major pipelines that belong to the Henan provincial pipeline network include Henan South Gas Pipeline (Xuedian-Zhumadian), Henan North Gas Pipeline (Bo'ai-Anyang), Zhongyuan Oil Field-Kaifeng-Zhengzhou and Mianchi–Yima–Zhengzhou Coal-to-Gas Pipeline.[3]

Mianchi–Yima–Zhengzhou Coal Gas Pipeline 渑池-义马-郑州 (煤制气管道)

The pipeline first started in 2001 as a coal gas pipeline. Since then, it had provided coal gas of 4.4 billion cubic meters to the local residents.[24]

In August 2010 the Yanshi section of the pipeline crossing the Yihe River broke and caught on fire, cutting off gas supply for about 40,000 downstream customers.[25][26]

In 2013, the coal-to-natural gas replacement process was started. The natural gas has been generated from the Yima Gasification Plant(义马气化厂), which is the subsidiary of Henan Energy and Chemical Industry Group Co.,Ltd(河南能源化工集团).[27]

Puyang–Fan County–Taiqian Gas Pipeline 濮范台 (濮阳-范县-台前)输气管道

Puyang–Fan County–Taiqian Gas Pipeline is an operating gas pipeline in China.[44] Construction on the pipeline began in 2019.[45] The line was placed into commission in May 2020.The pipeline was originally estimated to be 69–78 kilometers in length.[46][47]

The pipeline is proposed to run from Henan Province to Hebei Province, China.[44]

Zhoukou-Wuhan Connecting Gas Pipeline 淮武输气联络线（周口-武汉）

The source of the pipeline is West-East Gas Pipeline 1. The pipeline connected West-East Gas Pipeline 1 and Zhongxian-Wuhan Pipeline. It only received the permit for construction in 2009, 3 years after its operation.[50] In October 2020 ownership of the pipeline was transferred from CNPC to PipeChina.[51] [52] The pipeline runs from Huaiyang, Zhoukou, Henan, China to Wuhan, Hubei, China.

Lentan Gas Company Gas Pipelines Route

Several pipelines under West-East Gas Pipeline are built within the Henan province. Henan Lentan Gas Co. Ltd. Company(河南蓝天燃气股份有限公司) covers gas pipeline deployment in large areas in the Henan province. It owns Henan South Gas Pipeline (Xuedian-Zhumadian), Nanyang-Zhumadian Gas Pipeline, and Xuedian-Bo'ai Branch, which are all under the West-East Gas Pipeline Network. Among these projects, Henan South Gas Pipeline (Xuedian-Zhumadian) is the first provincial pipeline under West-East Gas Network and is also the largest gas pipeline within the province.[59] The pipeline's source is the West-East Gas Pipeline. The pipeline runs from Xuedian, Zhengzhou, Henan to Zhumadian, Henan.
