Uzen-Atyrau-Samara (UAS) Pipeline (Kazakh: Өзен-Атырау-Самара мұнай құбыры; Russian: Нефтепровод Узень-Атырау-Самара) is an oil and gas condensate (NGL) pipeline running from Russia to Central Asia.[1] The UAS pipeline provides transportation of crude oil to Atyrau, Pavlodar and Samara refineries, as well as railway loading points.[2][3]
Location
The pipeline originates at the Uzen field, Kazakhstan, and runs through the Caspian port of Atyrau, Kazakhstan, to Samara, Russia.

Background
The UAS pipeline provided the first major export route for Kazakhstan.[1] It consists of two sections: the Uzen-Atyrau pipeline, formerly known as Uzen-Guryev oil pipeline, which originates at the Uzen field in southwest Kazakhstan and transverses 702 km north to the Atyrau port at the Caspian Sea, and the Atyrau-Samara pipeline, formerly known as Guryev-Kuibyshev oil pipeline.
The UAS pipeline was upgraded in 2009.
In January 2024, Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement according to which Kazakhstan will supply up to 1 mtpa of oil and stable gas condensate to the Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery through Russia. Supplies will be made via the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara pipeline, then through the Tuymazy-Omsk-Novosibirsk 2 pipeline, through the Kazakhstani Priirtyshsk region to the Pavlodar refinery.[3]
Spills
In July 2004, damage to the UAS pipeline at approximately the 283-km marker resulted in a spill of 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes of crude oil in the Mangystau region.[11]
